The landscape of generative AI is evolving, and while AppSec Assistant and AppSec Assistant Pro were once novel and useful, there are now far superior tools available to developers. As a result, we are beginning the retirement process for both products.

Retirement Overview

Effective today, we are providing the required 90-day notice of retirement for AppSec Assistant and AppSec Assistant Pro on the Atlassian Marketplace.

During this retirement window, the listings will remain available for existing users, but no further updates or enhancements will be made. After the end-of-life date, support and maintenance will cease, and the apps will be removed from the Marketplace.

Why We’re Retiring the Products

When these plugins were first introduced, generative AI in application security was still emerging. Today, the ecosystem has matured significantly, and there are numerous tools that offer far more advanced capabilities than these early efforts were designed to provide. Rather than continue maintaining software that no longer delivers meaningful value compared to modern alternatives, we’ve chosen to sunset both products.

Impact to Existing Users

If you are currently using either app, everything will continue to function during the 90-day retirement period. After that time, the apps will no longer be supported or available for installation.
